The Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program (Arkansas NASP) is the official Arkansas affiliate of the National Archery in the Schools Program.
Archery is an activity in which people from all walks of life and almost every size and ability can participate. Archery is also a great way to sharpen skills and build success in the classroom; in addition, it is also a relatively simple and inexpensive sport to learn and pursue.
Arkansas NASP is focused on providing a safe, fun environment for participating in archery in the school setting while raising awareness of conservation-related sports, responsibility, and self-esteem.
A state tournament is held each spring. Students in grades 4-6 participate in the Elementary Division; students in grades 7-8 in the Middle School Division; and students in grades 9-12 in the Senior Division.
The Commission offers a limited number of grants each year to schools for the purchase of archery equipment. The grant is a 75/25 match, with a maximum of $1875 available per grant.
